On August 18 the agency opens its doors for the first time and 20 children move into Kaufmann from Woodward State Hospital.

1973

Agency purchases 2909 Kaufmann from the Archdiocese of Dubuque.

The Vocational Services Center (VSC) opens its doors for the first time on Central Avenue.

1974

The University Group Home opens as the first licensed home.

1975

In May, the VSC moves from Central Avenue to a new home on South Locust Street.

1980

The Delaware County Vocational Services Center (DCVSC) opens its doors in Manchester, IA.

1983

Agency starts offering apartment services in the fall.

1984

The VSC moves from South Locust Street to its current home on Kerper Boulevard.

1987

In November Becker Community Living Home opens as the first "waiver" home (where some of the licensing regulations are waived).

1991

In June the Howard Community Living Home opens in Manchester.

1992

The agency opens its first three Intermediate Care Facilities for Persons with Mental Retardation (ICF/MR) licensed homes.

1993

The agency purchases its first apartment building at Pasadena.

1994

In August the Kennedy Community Living Home opens and the residential program at Kaufmann ends.

1997

In July the agency begins offering a retirement program.

1998

In August the Pennsylvania Community Living Home becomes the first Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) home.

1998

In December the agency's main administration offices move from 2909 Kaufmann to its current location on Roosevelt Street Extension off of Kerper.

1999

In March the Consumer Advisory Council starts meeting.

2001

In November the apartment program expands its services to include Dyersville and an apartment complex is opened there.

2001

The first annual Corporate & Community Games are held during the Dragonboat Festival.

2004

The apartment complex at Kennedy Circle is built and opens.

2005

In August the agency adopts a new official logo.

2005

In December the community living home opens in Dyersville.
